Great day with fantastic weather and views. Thought the snow would be soft enough to warrant snowshoes but was so firm from trailhead to summit that the snowshoes stayed strapped to my pack and I ended up using my ten-point crampons for the steep bits. With the temps rising this week I suspect the snow will soften so that snowshoes with aggressive traction will be needed. |
