Comments
Comments: Used south Imp trailhead. Low flat area on Imp had many muddy sections and lots of wet leaves. The snow starts on the North Carter trail. I ascended the North Carter Trail without traction and experienced no problems. Used MicroSpikes on the ridge. About a couple of inches of loose snow on the Carter-Moriah trail. Underlying ice crunched at times. Cracked through ice in wet areas on two occasions leaving a four to six inch depression. Persistent strong icy winds in exposed sections of the Carter-Moriah trail. No sign of any other hikers on the Mt Lethe /Middle Carter section of trail. On returned I noticed tracks heading to North Carter.
