Comments
Comments: The trails were well packed requiring only light traction. We opted for snowshoes for the heel lifts. There were a few spots of lightly drifted snow which are now also packed down. We switched to spikes below the tent site on the return trip. Conditions were excellent with temps in the high 20's in the am. The afternoon saw the snow soften a bit lower down. We noted someone had post holed here and there, nothing to interfere with overall integrity of the trail. On the return trip we took the "bushwhack"trail just beyond the Flume Slide trail junction. It bears to the right at the hairpin turn. It was also pretty well packed and must get some regular use. At its terminus at the snowmobile trail there is a log you can use to cross the stream, which I thought to be quite fun. If only conditions could stay just like this.
