Comments
Comments: There were many hikers out enjoying this area today! There were as many in snowshoes as there were in crampons and the conditions seemed to accept both comfortably. There were a few solid ice blocks on some inclines throughout the trail that made climbing a challenge. By the time we descended, the snow fall from the night before had already been packed down and the ice was exposed. A few hikers made some side paths so as to avoid the sheets of ice. All trails were well marked. The north summit was in the clouds by the time we ascended. The south summit was spectacular. My hiking partners and I enjoyed meeting many friendly hikers today, the one traveling the farthest to enjoy the whites with us, Ed & his son, from Delaware. Today I also enjoyed trying out my new butt sled and I am SO happy that I made this purchase! It was so much fun!
