Comments: Trailhead at 730. The Ammo was very straightforward and perfectly packed. I wore snowshoes the whole time and was glad to have them on the steep sections. Great views on the way up although semi-obstructed. t this point the trail split and instead of going right I followed a stupid ski trail (left) thinking that they’d meet up…they didn’t. I had to bushwhack around 50 yards over to the real trail (ammo).

Hit the hut, and dropped all my gear. Threw on crampons, and took out my ice ax. Monroe was a sheer ice/snow for about 20 feet and I climbed it very easily. Microspikes weren't enough for the couple I met attempting the same accent.

Back to the hut, and on to Washington. I lost track of some cairns and ended up taking the tuckerman's bypass part of the way instead of staying on Crawford Path. Not a huge detour, and it was definitely the easier route.

On to the descent which was pretty mind-blowing how close you get to the ravine edge going down gulf side trail to hit jewell. Caught my crampons on my pants more than once and ended up ripping them.

Switchbacks and a perfectly packed trail down jewell tr. I should have put snowshoes on after I hit tree line but I wasn’t post holing and the trail was holding up nicely. It was super-hot in the sun, I couldn’t take off my sunglasses it was so bright. The trail was getting very warm and mild slush on the service.
