Parking/Access Road Notes: More cars than I've ever seen at the end of Little River road (maybe 15 or so), more than the number of people we saw all day - no issues

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: No issues today - herd path between first crossing of North Twin trail and beginning of Firewarden's trail meanders into mostly frozen stream bed a bit, largest tributary crossing looked sketchy in places but stayed solid - would be more cautious with warmer temps later this week

Comments
Comments: Put spikes on about a quarter of a mile from the car and kept them on until back at the car - 1-2" fairly packed snow on top of a hard icy crust, maybe 4-6" drifts in a few spots up high but snowshoes got a free ride all day. Overall good footing except for a few steeper spots on the bottom half mile of FWT, even in the afternoon sun we were slipping a bit because our spikes were having trouble getting good purchase into the very hard crust - certainly no need for more aggressive traction, just be careful. The path splits about 20-30 yards below the summit, we went right on the way up (not the real trail) and followed the real trail on the way down, both had a very short section of ducking through thick branches. Plenty of tracks heading towards the Twins, and down both Hale Brook and Lend-a-Hand trails from the summit. Saw about a dozen other people out enjoying the day, definitely chilly but with the birch glades and blue sky this route is always wonderful - thanks Nikki, Adam and Hannah for a great day.
