Comments
Comments: Pretty wet and muddy for the majority of the hike with scattered bits of ice and snow after the overlook up to the summit. Conditions were much warmer than I expected so I can only assume more mud/water as long as this warm weather is here. No blowdowns and stream-crossings were easy.

Didn't use traction. Gaiters would be useful given the mud/water, and obviously waterproof boots. Warm weather and shelter from the wind made winter gear unnecessary; if anything I wish I was wearing shorts.

11.4 miles / 5hrs30min. Didn't see anyone on the trail today but the views were beautiful once above the cloud cover. A few pictures uploaded at http://www.mbuchholz.com/blog/?p=463.
