A great day in the Carters though very limited views. We used spikes up 19 Mile Brook which was rock solid. At the lake going up Carter Moriah was also solid though very choppy. The hardest part of the day was the descent to Zeta as the trail was very rough from barebooters in the soft snow. At Zeta we switched to snow shoes even though the trail was still solid and stayed in them to the car. Not as much barebooting across the ridge and down the Imp and North Carter trail so snow shoes worked well to avoid postholing. All in all trails are rough but not as bad as some I have recently done |
