Wore hillsounds all day but carried snowshoes just in case. Trail is well packed and small water crossings are frozen over. Above 4K all bets are off though. Ton of snow. Cairns are covered in snow and the trail is difficult to follow to the ridge. I was able to follow to the ridge but turned back deciding not to summit Lafayette due to blowing snow and windchills. Didn't see anyone else all the way up or down but that's the beauty of the Skoo! Wonderful first outing since my hip surgery and a day outdoors beats working any day. Hike safe! |
