| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
We parked in the lot across from Starr King Rd. There are a couple signs from the snowmobile club saying snowmobile parking only but the USFS sign at the end of Starr King Rd says winter parking across Rt 2. I'm sure with a little consideration we can all share the winter lot. There were only 2 trucks with trailers there today. There is also a small lot near the store and another at a pull off .1 mi east of Starr King Rd. All three lots had hikers parked there today. |

Lots of people on Waumbek today. Most were wearing light traction but a few of us wore snowshoes because it's winter and the snow was soft and powdery. The signs at the summit of Waumbek are about knee high now and the cairn is completely burried. Nice to see Steve, Holly, and Kibo once again, and to hike with Matt. Not much for views today but still fun.
