Comments
Comments: Well we started off on the pine bend trail and it was like a highway. so we wore spikes up. The spots where people butt slid down was a little tough at times to get up but we got there. We had thoughts of going over to Scaur but we were not wanting to post hole the entire way there as the snow was very deep and soft. So i will be back another day for that one and fool killer. We made it to the peak and there was a nice viewpoint of the presidential side. We took some water and ate a little before we headed over to middle peak. We hit the junction of sabbaday trail and moved on. We then decided to dump our packs adnd get at it. The view was towards choucora and of waterville. Still a great day. We meet a couple right before we made it back to our bags who were doing an out and back from pine bend. Grabbed our things and headed down sabbaday. It was as a report said a few days ago-mashed potaoes like. No one had brough snowshoes it looked like ever on this section. We would be there all day if we tried to fix it up. So we used everyones step they had made before. At times it had been steep and a slip turned into a slid but it dudn't make it like the pine bend trail. We did meet 1 man on the way down who was having a great day and wished him luck. The trail being in suck shoppy shape made it for a little slower going. We again said hi fool killer and will try again another day. My ankles were not happy staying on the packed foot print trail(i looked hammered haha). There were many water crossings ans thanksfully we did not get wet ever. When it came to crossing sabbaday it was tricky at times but we would cross and see footprints of where a better crossing was upsteam. Oh well. We saw the falls and they looked awesome and soon enough we were back to the car. We started off at -1 and was never as cold as we ahould have been. No wind-sunny skies-great day with great people.
