Comments
Comments: A little crampon refresher today in preparation for an upcoming hike. Trails are frozen solid. I put spikes on for the road walk and then switched to crampons before heading up the trails. WT is choppy from barebooters. The usual big ice bulges just past Halfway Rock. I see that some folks went around this area, I went straight up. The summit ledges have mostly been blown clear of snow. Temps were cold, but the sun was bright and there was zero wind, a rarity. Winslow was in better shape, not as choppy. I descended in crampons to the parking area, then I barebooted back down the road.

On the summit, I ran into a state police employee doing work on the communications tower. There are two windows missing from the fire tower cab and he told me they were blown out by the wind. They are due to be replaced soon.
