Comments
Comments: The trails were pretty well packed with maybe 1" of snow on top at lower elevations and 1-2" on the slides and spots above. I wore spikes to the base of the loop then switched to snowshoes for the traction and heel lifts ascending North Peak: this served me very well though a couple of times it was tough to get traction. I kept them on to South Peak then butt slid down to the loop junction - 9 minutes including two stops to let folks going up by :) From there I barebooted to the Cedar Brook Trail junction (for a little glissading) and put the Spikes on for the walk out - no chop resulted from this :) You could wear snowshoes for the entire trip and be OK with it....just take them off while sliding so you don't hurt yourself.

Clouds obscured the views at both outlooks but did break a little on South Peak - however I had both to myself for quite a while which was very serene with just a few flakes falling and hardly any wind. The ridge walk was gorgeous with the snow and ice on the trees. I saw three folks up there heading north as I was heading south and hit the bubble coming down the Loop Trail passing maybe 15 or so. The rest of it I shared only with my thoughts making for an excellent trek.
