Comments
Comments: First part of Avalon trail was nicely packed and easy to snow shoe. The A-Z Trail up to Tom was unbroken. It was mainly a hard crust that broke to about 3 inches in depth with powder. We encountered the same condition on Willey Range on the way to Field. The hike from Field to Avalon was unbroken with small drifts and crust that broke to about 4 inches in powder. Avalon back to 302 was tramped. We had 3 hikers wearing snow shoes from start to finish which helped break and pack the trail once again. We saw tracks where someone bare booted up to Avalon and post holed several times.
