One person and a dog broke out the herd path to the Fire Warden's cut off. I broke trail the rest of the way. Snow began to drift as I neared the treeline of N Twin. Heading over to South Twin, as soon as the sun hit the snow, it stuck to the bottom of my snowshoes, making things slow going. Annoying but a great workout. I used snowshoes the entire time - probably not necessary at the beginning of the herd path to haystack, but I didn't want to carry them. Definitely needed them with the drifting. Microspikes took a ride on my pack the whole time. Beautiful day! |
