Comments
Comments: Air Line was perfect fro light traction from the lot all the way up to just about King Ravine area where the snow on the trail began to dissappear and bare rock with patches of ice were prevalent.
Once you break treeline the trail conditions began to vary regularly from well packed snow to patches of ice with exposed rock.
Adams summit approach varies from snow packed (microspikes needed) to bare rock hopping and then to packed snow and ice near summit.
Gulfside trail to Madison Hut from Adams is miserable until near the hut (very icy & rocky with little or no good footing options).
Osgood is icy but navigable at the start towards Madison and changes to packed snow (microspikes) but then changes to ice and rock where microspikes (Kahtoolas) are helpful only slightly (a more aggressive micro like Hillsounds would be ideal) however it regularly changes to bare rock hopping where you pretty much need to remove your light traction.
The Adams summit is mostly bare rock hopping.
Valley Way was packed powder and perfect for light traction all the way back to the lot.
