Climbed Lafayette and Lincoln this morning: up Bridle Path and down Falling Water. OBP is a hard white sidewalk up to the hut, as is FW from Haystack to the base. From the hut across the ridge to Haystack the trail is a mix of ice, crusty snow and rock. Microspikes are necessary, but anything else is overkill or useless. You would need a jackhammer to posthole in the trail. Plenty of snow in the woods. Took us 5 hours for the loop. |
