The trail was hard packed and we hiked with three people. One wore micrspikes, one wore crampons, and one wore hiking boots. I would not recommend boots but it is possible. Would not recommend summiting mountain without spikes/crampons. Snow was hard crusted and weather was near 0. As long as you can stay on top and not break through conditions are good. 3 hours from parking lot to summit, 2 hours down. Wind immediately picked up above treeline, 15-20mph wind from west. Only easily accessable water was during the first 2 miles. |
