Comments
Comments: Used snowshoes from car to car, which worked great. Firm, fast surface on the well-established herd path from Little River Rd. to the North Twin Trailhead, and also most of the way up to the North Twin summit. Microspikes probably would have worked for most of this ascent as well. Between North Twin and South Twin, the snow was not consistently packed- intermittent evidence of a snowshoe trench (should be a bit better now), with occasional 12-18" postholes. Panoramic views from both Twins- cold to be sure, but relatively light winds.
