skied Zealand Rd to trail head. snowshoes up and back. broke out trail all the way, with deeper snow near summit. encountered 6 barebooting hikers -- on the return trip back down, none of them carrying snowshoes. Suggested they might consider snowshoes the next time, especially if they encounter a freshly packed out trail -- easier hiking, safer on the ankles, and preserves a nice smooth way up and back (especially for the one breaking out the trail!). Good conversation!
Great Day in Whites!! |
