Comments
Comments: I used snow shoes the whole trip up and back, I passed 5 guys , 3 with crampons and 2 with spikes. The new snow , 2 to 4 inches made snow shoes my choice. After the shining rock junction the snow was deeper .The ridge was not broken out and drifted in quite a bit, however coming down Lincoln in snow shoes I stumbled 2x as the snow was just not deep enough to cover all the rock. I managed the ridge in snow shoes as the drifts were very deep but I did carry spikes and crampons which I never used today. I met 2 great guys to hike over to Lincoln with, the summit was socked in and the sun did break out a few times for beautiful light, visibility was poor and winds were light--was a great day out!Good Luck to Phil and Kevin on their winter 48s!!! I have now hiked Lincoln in every month!!!
