| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Plenty of room at Highland Center. Mt Clinton Road is closed for parking. A NHDOT plow stopped to ask us please don't park cars alongside Rt. 302. There was 1 car there in the morning, 4 in the afternoon. If it snows and they're trying to plow, you risk getting towed. |

Great day, light winds, moderate temperatures. There was no precipitation to speak of. We were treated to 4" of new powder on top of a packed trail and wore snowshoes car to car. Descending, we met a group of 4 young men bare booting. They left foot marks 4-6" deep in our snowshoe track. We packed out their marks to no avail since they would be trekking back out behind us. When the trail freezes, it'll be tough to hike. Moral, use snowshoes in these conditions. Thanks to Rick for pulling me out of a snowdrift which I stumbled in to. |
