Comments
Comments: Beautiful day hiking with the family. Warm, blue skies, and no wind. Plenty of people out enjoying the trails. Path is well-packed all the way to treeline, felt a bit silly carrying four pairs of snowshoes up and down. Above treeline mostly crusty snow with some patches of ice, one steep section on the north side of Lafayette near the summit where crampons would have been better; microspikes were perfect for the rest. We were among the last off the mountain - on the way down we were treated to a beautiful view from the hut of the ridge in pink, as the sun was setting. Only down side was the lost mitten!
