Used snowshoes for all but the road as did most others from Ravine Lodge side today. Gorge Brook well packed with minimal postholes mainly to the side of trail. Above tree line there was quite a bit of ice and minimal snow. With no steep spots it was easy to hold traction on the ice while avoiding exposed rocks. Carriage Road and Snapper had more post holes but still in very good condition. Spur to South Peak a perfect snowshoe trench. Gorgeous day; refreshed my attitude towards hiking. Hopefully upcoming weather won't ruin things. Nice chatting with Danielle and friends, Silverfoxs nephew and crew as well as others. All having a great time today. |
