A pair of snowshoe tracks were a welcome sight but by intersection of Elephanthead they had abandoned their snowshoes and became professional postholing. We passed their pissholes on the edge of trail, ugh. We caught and passed them shortly after taking the left up towards Jackson. They told us they ditched, yes left behind their snowshoes because they sucked. Danielle and I broke the deepening snow all the way while they lurked behind us. At the ridge super windy and blue ice, glad to have Snowshoes with aggressive crampons. Wind fierce and we were in a cloud. Postholing ran ahead of us and I asked them don't you want to go back the way you came? Yikes, not sure they would have found the trail again without our direction. We took our time a Canadian Jay shared our snacks and we enjoyed limited views across the notch and to Bwoods. Couldn't believe the boys pissed in the trail again and we caugjt them again and suggested they take at least five steps off the trail and they seriously responses Why? Bugle Cliff and Elephant head well snowshoes tracked out. Mostly nice outing. |
