Comments
Comments: Surface of suspension bridge a bit slick early this morning. Lincoln Woods trail had some water running across in places as well as muddy stretches. East Branch of the Pemigewasset River running strong today. Osseo Trail in good shape. Snow began at the staircases. Steps had frozen slush on ascent which cracked apart under force. Stairs were in better shape at time of descent. Received a cold shower from the snow melting off the evergreens above stairway. Micro Spikes came in handy on ledges leading up to Mt Flume and Mt Liberty. Rocks coated in one to two inches of slush or wet snow. Windy in open areas. Franconia Ridge Trail between Flume and Liberty had lots of puddles, mud, snow, and frozen slush. Good views to the Twins and Bonds prior to noon. Clouds descended upon the high peaks during the afternoon. Somebody had come up the Flume Slide Trail judging from the footprints. Saw nobody between the Lincoln Woods Trail and Mt Liberty on ascent and descent.
