Comments
Comments: The trail is pretty much packed the entire way to Greenleaf Hut. There are a few postholes along the sides so pay attention or you could fall in or twist your ankle (I kept doing that on my way down). There are a few patches of thick ice on top of the ledgy parts which I was able to climb with care but easily with microspikes. Above tree line was an entire different thing. There is no packed trail and due to strong winds and snow in the last couple of days, there are no visible paths, so you're mostly going cairn to cairn and guessing the location of the trail. It is VERY icy there, so crampons are more appropriate.
I switched to crampons by the summit of Lafayette and then wore them the entire way down, which made for an easier descent.
