Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: First crossing of Avalanche Brook easy if you use the blowdown a short ways upstream. Rock hops after that.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: 5 blowdowns on Mt. Tripyramid heading up to South Peak, a couple on the ridge, a few new ones on Scaur. A hiking saw could get some of them. A section of Pine Brook up high but below the ledgey area is blowing out, with no water diversions for a very long stretch. A short section of Scaur below the ridge also needs diversions especially with its increased popularity, but it early in the erosion process. Two sections of the Livermore trail that are road are also eroding from flowing water in them, one near the Scaur Ridge TH and one near the Mt. Tripyramid TH to the north slide. The latter is nearing blowout in places. I tend to space out while hiking and I didn't see any sign for the Kate Sleeper trail, and I ran into a guy from Quebec who was looking for it. I wasn't able to help; I hope he found it.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Pretty easy trail for the mighty tough little dog. We didn't see any dogs until down low where the walkers are and then there were 5.
Bugs
Bugs: None

Comments
Comments: Except on the peaks there was very little wind, a fair amount of sun and it was quite nice, and since the peaks are sheltered the hike was pretty comfy. I only saw 6 other hikers which included a couple that had come up North slide today, 2 nice women who were laughing about the time they came up the north slide when it was wet like today, the "lost" hiker and Pockets. There were very few flat area walkers too. Near the end the sun disappeared and as we drove onto I-93 we could see showers in the valley.
