Comments
Comments: Thanks to all the hikers in the previous 3 days who broke out the Engine Hill bushwhack. Current route is 1.25 miles trail to trail, well packed, and does some interesting zig-zagging w/ nice views of Isolation on the northern end. :) Always fun to experience different routes on Engine Hill; the birch glades are so beautiful that it's hard to go "wrong" IMO.

We encountered 7 hikers, all but 2 who were in snowshoes. Snowshoes are still the way to go, especially with new snow in the forecast. (We did 'spike/bareboot RBT to/from almost the height of land.)

On the summit we were treated to hardly a breeze and the stunning vista of WHITE Presi's against a steely gray sky, the perfect setting to celebrate the finish of the Calendar Year Grid with a small bottle of Veuve Clicquot. Will post some sort of summary on blog in a few days; until then, have a bit more hiking to do before New Years!
