Plenty of room in the lot today. It's not plowed but only had a couple inches of snow over a packed base. No problems with my Civic. |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trails in great shape. I took out a couple dead leaners on my way back down. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Easy winter hike for Marlie. Not much open water so plan accordingly. She insisted that we get a picture from the lower ledge on North Kinsman so she led the push through the thigh deep drifts. |

| Comments: |
I barebooted up to just past the Bald Mtn Spur then put snowshoes on once there was enough cover. I expected to put them on sooner and carried them in my hand but the snow depth was only <6 inches. Once past the spur the depth increased and the snowshoeing was good and then great across the ridge. We arrived at North Kinsman just before the snow blew in and received our only views of the day. It was snowing steadily on our way over to South Kinsman and back. The wind was never too bad but the blowing snow made it hard to see a few times. I kept the snowshoes on all the way back to the car rather than switch to microspikes and just had to pick and choose my steps to avoid the rocks. On the way down the temperature had risen above freezing, the snow had turned to mixed precipitation and what was on the ground was quite sticky.
