Started out to Rattle River shelter on Weds pm. trail was broken out to the shelter. Trail was unbroken from there on up. Camped (backcountry) just after the first river crossings. Thurs.morning I broke trail (8-12" crusty powder) up to ridge run past Middle Moriah where I ran out of gas and time. Many of the white AT blazes are faded and far between but someone has reblazed (spray paint) in red. At first it was confusing but eventually they were more helpful than the faded white blazes. Must be an orphaned trail. |
