| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Since I last hiked it in September, when all blowdowns between Starr King and Waumbek had been cleared, there are now three new blowdowns across the trail. To get them off the trail a big saw or an axe will be needed, but a pruning saw could make the stepping over these blowdowns easier. I didn't bring one as I remembered the trail was well cleared this summer. |

| Comments: |
Its not easy to get acrosse the water bar on the way to the TH parking. I scratched my front bumper trying to angle across the deep ditch. There were two pick-up trucks at the TH parking with tracking dogs. They were looking for bear and I could hear the baying of the dogs until I hit the long section of trail leading to the spring. On Waumbek I met the only two hikers today at the only view point east of the summit. Except for Monroe and Ike all Presis were already obscured by the approaching storm clouds. |
