Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Left my insulated mitts on my car's roof as I drove away. Returned later to find them hanging on the trail sign. Thanks to whoever found them and hung them there. Much appreciated!

Comments
Comments: Lower Valley Way was frozen granular somewhat packed from snowshoes the day before. I used microspikes and the going was pretty smooth.

I got up early this morning to get to Appalachia by sunrise to try to get Madison and possibly Adams for my December Grid. I excitedly pulled into the parking lot to discover it empty. A mile up Valley Way I recalled leaving my headlamp at home. I struggled for a few minutes with what to do. I knew the trails well and knew I could be back at my car before dark. But this was the Northern Presidentials, in December, solo. I had a flashlight in the car, but it had been there for a year untouched and took AAs, and all I was carrying were AAAs. I bailed and decided to hit up a smaller mountain I hadn't done before. Just wanted to write this to give thanks to those that offered me spare batteries in the parking lot and found my mitts that I drove off without!
