Another socked-in day. There were plenty of wet spots and mud holes between the little snow mounds on the trail, especially higher up. There was some minor drifting on the open sections of Shelburne-Moriah, enough to slow me down and make me mildly annoyed at times, but nothing more. From about 3000 feet up there was a punch-through ice crust with a few inches beneath it, plus the snow on top of the crust, but it only amounted to about 6 inches altogether at the higher elevations. |
