| Water Crossing Notes: |
I brought my "Booties" to wear across the big river and they worked great. You could get across but the rocks that are above the water line are few and far between. On the way back I just walked across. I typically cross below the rock cairns where the river is wider but shallower and not as fast flowing. All other crossings were fairly easy. |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Haystack Road has lots of sticks and branches on the ground. Baxter and I had to drag 2 trees out of the way on the way in. They were across the entire road. There is also a lot of branches and sticks on the trail. We moved quite a few out of the way. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Baxter had fun in the snow and also in the water. |

| Comments: |
Lot of running water in the trail. Put microspikes on at 3400 feet and when we got over 4,000 feet I was wishing I had my snowshoes. There is about 3-4 inches of powder over a crusty base. The microspikes were not very effective on the steep uphills as the powder was to deep. |
