Comments
Comments: Lower part of Stoney Brook trail is bare ground with wet leaves. Wet snow starts after 2nd stream crossing. Snow gets significant in elevation gain but does not warrant the use of snowshoes yet. Carter-Moriah Trail is mostly snow covered. Snow had a grippie breakable crust, which made for a pleasant ascent and ridge walk. Some ice under the snow with wet spots were easily manageable. Nice views all around with spotty sunshine and dark approaching clouds.
Snow was softening on the descent with warming temps which made the going sloppy. Not a bad day in the mountains with Barb, Leon, and Rachel.
