Comments
Comments: Today's unseasonable higher temps made the hike bearable .Although I expected wet trails, the conditions were alot worse than I thought. Slush and more slush, high water at the crossings , rain and freezing pelting rain as I climbed up the South peak; made for an interesting day! Beautiful ice trees donned the summits. The ice rain turned to lightly falling snow, no views as both peaks were in the clouds. Barebooted until the loop trail where I used micro spikes to hike up South and down Hancock. Didn't see anyone until I was heading out on Cedar Brook where I ran into a Young man who was quite the accomplished hiker and we chatted a bit ;) Perfect day for me as I did not hike for 2 weeks due to a sinus infection. It felt great to be back on the trails !! Today's hike closed out the Hancocks for me, as I now have hiked them in every month!! ;)
