Easily crossed on icy rocks w/careful foot placement (up) and spikes (down). The waterfall is gorgeous right now! |

Thankful for Fancypants, who agreed to prepare the entire Thanksgiving dinner so that I could snag a coupla peaks this morning. Thanks FP!!
Trace to an inch of snow down low increasing to 4-5" on ridge. Was a splendid winter wonderland up there, with every tree branch covered in snow and rime. Snowed a little bit during hike, enough to start covering tracks. Was able to bareboot all the way to North Kinsman, but there were def icy spots so wore spikes over to South and 3/4 of the way back down.
Nice to run into Jack on South Kinsman... for the 6th unplanned encounter this year. Thanks, Jack, for the interesting conversation and the hike down. :) |
