Comments
Comments: The lower section of trail was wet. The upper section of Ammo, where there are ledges, there was some snow and ice in places. It was easier for us to put on microspikes to handle this section without fear of slipping and injury. Others (younger and more nimble) could pick their way through it. It was so unseasonably warm at 50 degrees and sunny! There was more wind above the hut. The Monroe loop was free enough of snow that we didn't need spikes. I'd imagine that after this week's snow hitting the NE, the conditions have changed.
