|Hiking Trail Conditions Report|
||Mt. Kearsarge, NH|
||Winslow Trail, Barlow Trail|
|Date of Hike:
||Saturday, November 19, 2016|
|Parking/Access Road Notes:
||Parked at Winslow State Park. I was the last one off the mountain, and a state parks worker was waiting for me, as the WSP gate is now closed and locked for the winter. I assume it's the same on the Rollins side. |
||Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable |
|Water Crossing Notes:
|Trail Maintenance Notes:
||No issues. Blazes on both trails look to be refreshed since my last visit. Thanks! |
||Sure, but they are required to be leashed. |
|Lost and Found:
||A beautiful evening on Kearsarge for a sunset, up Winslow and down Barlow. Nearly 60 degrees when I started and about 40 when I got back. Both trails are wet and muddy, Barlow being more so. This made some of the ledges slick in places. Tremendous views in all directions in the clear air before the sun went down.|
As noted above, the Winslow State Park gate is now closed and locked for the winter. I assume it's the same on the Rollins side as well. If you want to hike from this side, you will need to park at the gate and walk 0.7 mi. up the road.
