| Water Crossing Notes: |
numerous crossings were no problem. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
a number of step over blowdowns along route. dragged many off trail particularly along ridge. a saw could get most. drainage on all trails needs some serious cleaning/salvaging. some bog bridging through the worst muddy sections on the ridge would be a good idea as bypasses are forming that will just lead to bigger pits down the line. |

| Dog-Related Notes: |
i wouldn't suggest taking a dog up the slide unless its really hiking savvy. |

i normally avoid hiking on holidays, but today was just too nice. it was my first time on arrow slide despite it being my 8th trip to these peaks. it looked wet from down low, but passable. lots of running water on the slabs, but they could be bypassed to the edge of the slide. went left around the first slabs and then cut over and stayed right until crossing over near the top to get to the highest point of the right branch and the exit. i would have liked to get more in the middle of the slide, but it looked too wet today. some fairly tricky lose footing in spots and most of those slabs may as well be iced over as slimy and slippery as they are. a real short "bushwhack" above lead quickly to the trail. a great day and it was nice to finally get up via this route. bryan |
