Comments
Comments: A beautiful morning above treeline. Crystal clear skies, no clouds and not a breath of wind despite the forecast for 20 mph. EP was wet and muddy down low. I put on spikes about 3/4 of the way up and left them on until this point on the descent. Upper sections of the EP were icy with some packed snow along the level section where the trail follows the contour of the mountain. MEL was mostly soft snow and slush, being in the sun. Cold in the woods, but very warm once above treeline, almost too warm. Incredible views in all directions due to the clear air. Due to the temps, the ice and snow was disappearing fast on the descent.
