Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Ones of note were on the lower Tuckerman Ravine Trail bridge detour, where there are four stream crossings, some of which look to be tricky at higher water. The lower (4th) crossing had icy rocks which made for some quick, thoughtful foot placement.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: There are three blowdowns on Valley Way, all (IIRC) above VW Tentsite. The first is good-sized, ~14" diameter, that requires an awkward stepover or walk around. The other two are smaller but def in the way...
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Tough pads and mtn hardiness required.

Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Lost my cookies... a baggie of macaroons somewhere on Madison. :(

Comments
Comments: Gorgeous day up high! Barebooted all the way to summit of Madison, put old spikes on for descent and left them on, because I didn't want to play the on-off-on-off game. The worst ice (which was not really that bad) was on Madison and descending Lion Head, where light traction is necessary, but IMO on this day much of the rest could have been barebooted.

There was 1-2" fresh snow up high with a bit of drifting--and minor postholing--here and there. Winds were light but could definitely be felt on the summits and, particularly, in Clay Col. Only a handful of folks up there today. Had Adams to the Cog tracks completely to myself!

Thanks to AS for the ride back to my car. :)
