Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Swift River required fording. Water sandals came in handy.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: So many Blow downs especially on the Brunel Trail we lost count. Most were avoidable with step overs and duck unders but several required re-route off trail a bit. Overgrown in many places and with all the leaves down, the Brunel trail can be lost if not attentive. A large tree blow down occurred on the Sawyer Pond trail during the day and we had to navigate through it on the return trip.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: No Dogs or other Hikers seen all day.

Comments
Comments: This route to Mt. Tremont is both fun and challenging. Past Trail reports and the AMC White Mountain Guide
are very accurate regarding the trail and conditions for this 'less used' hike to Tremont. You will typically
ford the Swift River right away. Sawyer Pond trail is easy for your warm up as well as the road walk up to
the upper Brunel trail section that heads to Tremont. Once on the Brunel Trail going to Owl's Cliff it is
important to keep an eye out for the faded tree blazes to stay on the trail and not meander off. The quick
trip up the Spur Trail to Owl's Cliff ledge for the view is nice and we found the canister to sign the log book.
The final push to Tremont is very steep but you will be rewarded with a fabulous view to Sawyer Pond, Green's Cliff
and several 4K's if the day is right. TYB for another fabulous day in the Whites :)
