Comments
Comments: There was about a half-inch of snow on the ground in the notch, increasing gradually to about two inches at the summit. The ground was not frozen below about 3000'. Above that was frozen, and puddles are iced over, but not thick enough to walk on without breaking through. Many rocks are slick with ice. I carried micro-spikes, but never quite felt like I needed them enough to dig them out of the pack. Still, it's a good idea to have them, since it was continuing to snow as I headed down. Trees are coated with ice and snow. It looks like winter up there.
