Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: The last 30 yards to the Reel Brook Trailhead is a spur, at a junction, consisting of scrambled large rocks not suitable for any low-clearance vehicle. My Outback did OK but maybe by not that much. There is alternate parking not far away, per the AMC Guide.

Comments: The western Trails to Kinsman Ridge get hardly any attention, which is a big part of their charm. We met no one on the wonderfully mellow Reel Brook Trail; the same for the Mt. Kinsman Trail, but for one elderly gentleman who was returning from Bald Peak, which is a wide rock ledge with splendid foliage vistas. Just below So. Kinsman, we were surprised to meet old hiking pals Jim R. and Brian, who were doing our hike in the other direction.
