| Water Crossing Notes: |
all crossings were rock hoppable, though a few of the stepping rocks were just below the water and some of the stones, placed by thoughtful hikers were wobbly and made me lose my balance. With the next heavy rain on Wednesday they will be submerged. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trails are in good shape with no blowdowns of any significance. Only problems are the three bottomless mud pits between the peaks. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
my dogs had a blast, particularly wading through the mud pits. There is plenty of water, except up and down the two peaks and in between |

| Comments: |
A great day for a hike. It was enough time to dry up some of the water on the trails from last week's downpour. The foliage is not as brilliant as last year. Because of the weather forecast for the next two days I expected to see more hikers out but only passed one hiker all day. |
