Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All easily stepped across.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: New blowdown near first crossing (small folding saw would rid it with little work); couple other larger ones on Unknown Pond Tr.. Three short sections on Bunnell notch side of Cabot that could use brushing and quite a lot of the Unknown Pond Tr. as well. Was enjoyable hiking on a less beaten trail however so no complaints.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Three hunters near trailhead so orange vests not a bad idea. Plentiful water. May need help on scrambles to Horn summit.
Bugs
Bugs:
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Found glasses case but not the owner; believe it belonged to couple who had taken wrong trail for Rogers Ledge. Left at York Pond TH.

Comments
Comments: Nice getting back on this side of Cabot (first time since day before Irene I believe). Another "best views had day" for me on a summit usually done on the marginal weather days. Excellent views from Bunnell Rock, Cabot Cabin, old fire tower site, the Horn and other spots throughout the day. Foliage colors added to the views especially to the north and east. Surprisingly quiet day with 10 met before Cabot Cabin and only 3 afterwards near Unknown Pond. Dry conditions mostly; but with wet weather the Unknown Pond Tr. would be very wet, muddy on feet as well as upper body. Scramble to top of Horn may be difficult with wet rocks as well.
