Starr King Trail in great shape. Some trees leaning across trail high above. No problem now but may be in the way in the winter snow.
Kilkenny Ridge Trail is wilder with some fallen trees across the trail but were easy to get by. The blazes on the Kilkenny Ridge Trail are fading. |

| Comments: |
The hike to Mt Waumbek has easy grades and good footing. The trail up to Starr King was dry with some color in the hardwood forest section. There were very small spots of mud between Starr King and Mt Waumbek. Saw a male Spruce Grouse on approach to Starr King. There was just a small puddle at the water starved spring (signed). Decided to hike the Kilkenny Ridge along the ridge to experience the less travelled route. |
