Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: i did not get mileages, but we drove magalloway road (impecable condition) from route 3 in pittsburg to the junction of a road running south starting northwest of the peak (near "camp no. 7" on the usgs and just a bit east of the road to garfield falls). the road runs south then a newer road hooks back to the north within a few hundred vertical of the summit to the west. a high clearance could easily drive to the point where we started. medium clearance would have a bit of trouble with a washout not too far in and that same washout would likely rule out most 2wd low clearance sedans. not knowing the roads condition we opted to walk in which took about a half hour each way.

Comments
Comments: the roadwalk was quick and we were soon bushwhacking east up through nice open hardwood forest. the area around the summit was a bit scrappier with evergreens and some blowdown. we checked a couple different bumps and found the recognized highpoint. we then descended the same route.
